Insert: custom storage for your games

Storage that slots right into your game box

Design it online to your game's measurements: everything fits, sleeves included, and the lid closes. Print it yourself, or get it printed and delivered.

  • Sleeved cards included
  • Height checked before printing
  • Free files, or a printed part

Your game isn't in the catalogues? That's normal.

Insert makers sell one model per title: the best sellers, in one specific edition, without sleeves. Yours has two expansions, a Kickstarter all-in, sleeved cards, a slightly taller box. Or it has no insert at all.

And when one exists, it often ships from far away: postage and customs can double the price.

Here, we start from your box, not from a catalogue.

What changes in the box

1

The lid closes

The workshop checks your trays against the box height. A tray that sticks out turns red, before you print.

2

Sleeves fit

You enter the size of your sleeved cards. The card holder is built around them, with adjustable clearance.

3

Expansions too

Reserve room for the board, minis or a deck with a block. Trays fit around it, and stack.

How it works

The workshop: a selected token tray with its size and compartments
1

Design your inserts

Measure the inside of the box, then place your token trays, card holders and racks. It all happens in the browser, no 3D software to learn.

STL or 3MF files are free with an account, with no limit. Without an account, you get one trial export.

Who's behind it

La Fabrique à Insert is the Res Fabrica workshop, in France. Gamers who were tired of tokens in baggies and lids that no longer close.

FAQ

I don't have a 3D printer.
No need. From the workshop, add your insert to the cart: we print it in PLA and send it to you. You check the size and colour before you pay.
My cards are sleeved. Will they fit?
Yes, if you enter the size of the sleeved card, not the bare card. The clearance around the cards is adjustable.
Will the lid close?
The workshop compares your trays to the box height and flags in red whatever sticks out. Measure under the lid, not the outside of the box.
What about my expansions?
Add their trays to the same box, and reserve room for boards or minis with a block. If it doesn't all fit, you see it before printing.
I store my boxes upright.
Close the trays with a sliding or drop-in lid: tokens stay put. Trays can also stack.
Is there any assembly or glue?
No. Each tray comes off the printer in one piece. Only the lid is a separate part.
How much does it cost?
Designing and exporting the files is free. With a free account, exports are unlimited; without one, you get one trial export. A printed part is priced per gram, with a minimum order. Price and shipping show in the cart before you pay. No customs in France or the European Union.
No account or a free account: what is the difference?
Without an account, you can try everything and make one trial export. With a free account, your projects are saved online and exports are unlimited. There is no subscription. Your designs stay yours.
I started without an account. Do I lose my work?
No. On your first save with an account, what you started is filed in your workshop.
What if it doesn't fit?
If the mistake is ours, we reprint. To avoid it: measure the inside of the box, and your sleeved cards.

Packed the way you pictured it.

A ruler, a few minutes, and the game hits the table more often.
